CTU Women
The CTU Women’s Council is the constitutionally recognised national
body representing women union members in CTU affiliated unions.
The Council consists of one women’s representative from each CTU affiliated unions. Women’s Council members are endorsed by their unions.
The Council meet at least once a year, with further meetings as determined by the Council.
Two representatives of the Women’s Council are entitled to attend meetings of the National Affiliate Council, with voting rights.
The constitution requires that a national women’s conference is held biennially - in the year of the CTU Biennial Conference.
Under the NZCTU constitution Local Women’s Councils can be formed under the same terms as Local Affiliate Councils.
